Tab Bar
Use the Tab Bar at the bottom of each screen to navigate between basic functions. Each tab will retain your most recent screen in memory until you either close the application or double tap the tab to return to its default position.
Maps
Use the Maps tab to choose between three different main maps:
- The San Francisco Area Map (roughly 40 miles square) shows much of the metropolitan Bay Area, including parts of nearby Marin County, the East Bay from Richmond to Fremont (including Oakland and Berkeley), and south of San Francisco to Half Moon Bay and Palo Alto.
- The San Francisco Downtown Map focuses on central areas including Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, Nob Hill, Downtown, SoMa, and City Hall.
- The San Francisco Golden Gate Park Map shows detail in the entire park itself and the nearby neighborhoods.
These maps are hot-linked to San Francisco's major attractions, such as galleries, theatres, shops, museums, aquariums, gardens, and more. Tap any attraction icon on the maps for immediate access to more information.
Locate Me On This Map
Tap the locate me button to find out where you are and display a blue pin on the map that shows your location.
In order for this feature to work, you will need to have access to your 3G network with your iPhone, or be within the range of a WiFi network with either your iPhone or iPod touch. You must also be physically within the geographic area covered by the maps. If your current location is outside the area covered by the maps, a message will be displayed saying that you cannot be located.
